Madagascar Cruise Excursions
As part of its DMC and incoming tour operator activity, SETAM organises excursions for cruise passengers calling at ports in Madagascar. Depending on each itinerary and port of call, programmes may combine local culture, historic sites, national parks and reserves, wildlife, birds, landscapes and beaches.

Wildlife and biodiversity
Depending on the port of call, excursions lead to the parks and reserves that are home to much of the island’s endemic wildlife: Lokobe reserve on Nosy Be, the islet of Nosy Mangabe and its aye-ayes, the Masoala primary forest or the spiny forests around Toliara. On Sainte Marie, humpback whales can be seen in season.
Local culture and historic sites
Other programmes focus on history and local life: guided tours of towns and historic sites, meetings with local people, fishing villages. Sainte Marie keeps the memory of its pirates, Antsiranana its colonial heritage, Toamasina its Creole atmosphere and Belo sur Mer its schooner builders.
